Ice Box Cookies by Chrissy's G'ma

2 eggs

½ cup white sugar

½ cup shortening

¼ teaspoon salt

1 ½ teaspoon cinnamon

½ cup brown sugar

2 cup flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ cup chopped nuts

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.

Roll mixture in wax paper and twist the edges.

Put in refrigerator.

After at least a half hour, take out and slice.

Bake at 375o for 7-10 minutes.

Pistachio Bread by Chrissy's Mama

1 package white cake mix

½ cup water

1 package pistachio pudding

4 eggs

½ cup oil

½ cup sour cream

½ cup sugar

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.

Grease 2 bread pans & pour a quarter of mixture in each pan.

In another bowl mix 2 t sugar & 2 t cinnamon.  Shake half of sugar mixture over batter in each pan.  Pour rest of batter over sugar mixture in each pan.

Bake at 350o for 45-55 minutes.

Creamy Carrot Soup

Cook Time: 40 min
Ready In: 55 min
Servings: 10

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 4 1/2 cups sliced carrots
  • 1 large potato, peeled and cubed
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
DIRECTIONS
  1. In a Dutch oven, saute onion in butter until tender. Add carrots, potato, broth and ginger. Cover and cook over medium heat for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Cool for 15 minutes.
  2. Transfer to a blender or food processor in small batches; cover and process until smooth. Return all to the pan; stir in the cream, rosemary, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat until heated through.

Brandy Slush

Ingredients:
2 c. Sugar
4 Black tea bags
2 c. Brandy
1 12-oz frozen lemonade
1 12-oz frozen orange juice
7-Up (Amount depends on how many you will be serving)

Directions:
Boil 4 cups of water with 2 cups of sugar

Boil 2 cups of water with 4 black tea bags and steep after boiling for 3 minutes

Let these both cool and then add:

  • 2 cups brandy
  • 1 12-ounce frozen lemonade
  • 1 12-ounce frozen orange juice

Stir good and let freeze for at least two days, add 7-Up (or Diet 7-Up) to taste.
